A graduate of Walton-Verona High School in Walton, Kentucky, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown College (in Georgetown, Kentucky) in 2006. In May of 2008, I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Master of Arts in Teaching.
Hobbies and Interests
If I were on death row (I’d be innocent, of course), I would request an alternative to the last meal: a last chance at a blog/journal. I love writing very much. I hope to write a book one day. Also, I enjoy listening to Christian music of various genres, singing wherever I walk, and playing a little guitar and piano (although that has been too scarcely done, lately). I’m an avid photographer who has recently begun dabbling in photo editing. Mostly, I love to travel. During the summer of 2009, I visited France and during the summer of 2010, I visited Greece (right: This is me on the Ancient Olympic Running Track). Other destinations are on my bucket list, as well (i.e.: Japan during August 2011; England and Ireland during the summer of 2013!). I’m interested in reading books people write about their own lives so that I can learn about and from them: most recently, Beth Moore, Anne Lamott and Donald Miller.
A recent transplant, I spent four years teaching high school English at Scott High School in Kenton County, Kentucky. The 2010/2011 school year is my fifth year teaching. I’m proud to be a part of the Whitehall Yearling High School faculty.
I’ve had some interesting jobs: White Castle and math/English tutoring in high school; campus foods in college; toothpaste tube factory one summer in college; a jewelry call center customer service representative for two summers (one during college, other other right after); Mr. Softee ice cream truck server in the summers of 2008 and 2009.
