English 1, 2, Honors: Reading Truth

Today, students went to the library to check out/renew books; students who were absent should be sure to check out/renew books on their own time.

Then, students took the OGT Skills notes for 2.7:

Use a comma (,) to separate three or more items in a series.

Use a semicolon (;) to separate two or more complete ideas that already contain commas.  I love to jump, play and scream; to laugh, skip and smile; to sit, read, and think.

Students responded to journal 37:

“There is nothing so strong or safe in an emergency of life as the simple truth.”  –Charles Dickens; Write two questions on your own for this quote.  Answer them in extended response format.

Finally, students read independently.  If you were absent, be sure to read for 20 minutes and submit a half-page summary of reading for credit.

Other notes:
English 1: Homework was checked– Chapter 1 worksheet and the Venn Diagram.
Honors 2: A quiz over book 4 was given.  See me to make it up.

Happy learning,
