English 1, 2, Honors: Triumphant Evil

Today, students took the OGT skills notes for 1/12/11:

  • Capitalize points of the compass when they refer to actual regions: a ranch in the West.
  • Capitalize titles of persons used with the person’s name. When title is used alone, capitalize only when it stands for a specific person of high rank: Professor Smith ; the Secretary of State
  • Capitalize names showing family relationships when the name serves as a proper noun: We stopped talking when Mom entered the room.

Then, students responded to journal 32:

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” –Edmund Burke; Write two questions on your own for this quote.  Answer them in extended response format.

Then, students read independently.  If you were absent, be sure to read independently for 20 minutes and submit a half-page summary of your reading for credit.

Happy learning,
